Elpee’s Steelworks originated in 1984 in Heidelberg Gauteng. Situated outside Heidelberg on the Vaaldam Road, it is approximately 45 minutes away from Johannesburg.
The company started in the form of a sole proprietor and still operates as such.
Elpee’s Steelworks primary functions are manufacturing of all types of steelwork, erection of structures, sheeting of structures as well as general maintenance of steel structures.
Elpee’s Steelworks uses Strucad to do our structural steel detailing and produce workshop fabrication drawings.
Our goal is to exceed the expectations of every client by offering increased flexibility and operation efficiency.
Initially the company mainly focussed on burglar proofing and safety doors but after a while started manufacturing structures such as spectator stands, a club house in the stands as well as a structure in the courtyard of the office building for the South African Defence Force base in Heidelberg.
From there forth Elpee’s Steelworks secured a lasting relationship with one of its biggest clients, the international company, British American Tobacco.
A range of products and services followed from structural maintenance, mounting of tobacco conveying pipes, manufacturing of steel partitions
in their warehouses, manufacturing of steel crates and bins for tobacco as well as general maintenance on buildings.
In 2002 an additional member joined the company.
We have grown from a small company that we are now, having acquired skills and experience we put to use to satisfy our clients.
