Our Steel Fabrication Factory Consists Of The Following Equipment And Capabilities
The old section of the factory is 450 m² with a two ton capacity overhead crane.
The second section is approximately 560 m² and has a 5 ton overhead crane capacity
The latest new section built from June 2009 to December 2009 expanded the existing factory with 2060 square meters (width = 28.6 m and length = 72 m) with two (x2) five ton overhead cranes installed for material handling within the factory
We have two horizontal band saw machines installed. The first machine has a maximum of 400mm cutting width at 90 degrees,
The second band saw machine is used to mitre cut big universal beams, castellated and cellular beams, the machine has a capacity of cutting beams of 700 mm in width, also mitre cutting at 60 degrees backwards and 45 degrees forward.
An 80 ton punching and shear cropping machine is used to do all the hole punching and cropping of all angles and flat products. This machine has a punching capacity of 30mm diameter through a 20mm plate.
All steel plates up to 10mm thick are guillotined with a 3000mm guillotine.
Our 200 ton hydraulic press brake enables us to bend all plates up to 10mm thick. Manufacturing of steel gutters and various types of plate work can also be done with this machine.
Our latest edition to the factory is a 12 m x 2.4 m cutting bed profile cutter with a 50mm plate thickness capability enabling us to cut our own plate in house
Elpee’s Steelworks strives to eliminate all possible faults that could cause any delay during erection. This is achieved by careful workshop drawing preparation and where possible the structure will be pre-assembled in the factory before erection
